Dinacharya: building a morning routine around your dosha
Dinacharya, the daily routine described in the classical texts, starts before sunrise. Waking during Vata time (roughly 4–6 am) brings lightness and clarity.
Scrape the tongue, rinse with warm water and drink a glass of warm water before anything else. Oil pulling with sesame oil supports oral health.
Vata types benefit from abhyanga (self-massage) with warm sesame oil; Pitta types from cooling coconut oil; Kapha types from a brisk dry massage and exercise.
